What the study is about
This study checks if a program on a computer can help choose the right therapy for people with depression. It compares the computer plan called StratCare with the usual way the NHS does treatment.
How NHS therapy usually works
Most people start with short, low intensity treatment for up to 8 weeks. If they need more help, they get longer, high intensity treatment for up to 20 weeks.
What StratCare does
StratCare is a computer programme. It tells the therapist to try either low or high intensity treatment. The choice is based on each person’s problems and life. The therapist still works with the patient to decide.
What the trial checks
The trial looks at whether StratCare helps more than the usual stepped care way.
Who sponsors it
Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.
Recruitment end date: 31 May 2025.
