Community clinical research facility
Grounded Research is located at The Hub, where you’ll find a friendly, welcoming, approachable, and professional team committed to supporting our community and research efforts.
The Grounded Research Hub serves as a community clinical research facility, a dedicated vaccine hub, and a versatile research space within the existing NHS trust infrastructure. Designed with input from local communities, staff, and patients, the Hub aims to provide a safe, inclusive, and inviting environment for all.
The design, layout, and vibrant colours of the building were thoughtfully developed by our patient research ambassadors, inspired by the colours of the rainbow, a symbol of appreciation for NHS frontline staff during the pandemic and a nod to the Pride flag, showing our support for the LGBTQ+ community. The Hub features colourful, flexible work areas that can be adapted depending on the research being conducted. Our goal is to create people-centred spaces, including treatment rooms, consulting rooms, and post-vaccination observation areas.
The Hub was established in response to the need for more vaccine clinical trials during the pandemic, exemplifying the collaborative efforts that allowed us to quickly offer research opportunities to our patients and communities.

Our clinical research facility (CRF) offers several benefits for partners interested in conducting clinical research, including:
- a dedicated clinic room and a large multipurpose events/training space
- a secure, temperature-controlled clinical trials pharmacy space with monitoring systems
- pleasant outdoor surroundings, located next to Woodfield Park at the trusts Tickhill Road Hospital site, part of Flourish Enterprises
- easy access by car with ample free parking
- on-site refreshment and dining options, including Flourish Tea Rooms, the Walled Garden, and the Food and Drink Café
- a skilled research team with extensive experience in delivering a range of academic, investigator-led, and industrial clinical trials
The clinical research facility is also the base for the Centre for Nutrition and Behaviour (CNB) and the Psychological Health Observatory (PHO).
