Overview
Inspire
The Research and Innovation team for Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) is called Grounded Research.
It is a unique and diverse team of staff who are dedicated to improving the lives of those in our communities through high quality research and innovation, often “dreaming big” to face the challenges of those in our communities with mental and physical healthcare needs.
Deliver
Our team delivers a broad range of research and innovation in key areas such as psychological and occupational health interventions in mental health via the Psychological Health Observatory, studies exploring new technology to manage diabetes via the Centre for Nutrition and Behaviour, sample and data collection projects aimed at understanding the root causes of healthcare challenges and service improvement. We also focus on urgent public health initiatives, such as COVID-19 vaccine research and enhancing the health and wellbeing of prisoners and justice staff.
Dedicated to advancing research that is methodologically sound, financially viable, and underpinned by robust governance, our team ensures the highest standards in all our work. We are fully supported within the NHS trust’s broader infrastructure, benefiting from access to essential support services, policies, and procedures.
Together
We are defined by a friendly, open, and professional working environment where each team member enjoys a high level of autonomy to develop their expertise and explore areas of personal interest. Our strong collaborative partnerships across staff networks and care groups enable us to build a research-ready workforce and champion research throughout the organisation.
We take great pride in our diverse, committed, and enthusiastic team, which spans a broad range of disciplines from across the trust. Our team includes doctors, nurses, psychological therapists, wellbeing practitioners, pharmacists, and allied health professionals, as well as key enablers like governance specialists, administrators, and communicators. All of this is supported by individuals within the trust and partner organisations, working together to drive our shared goals.
